The “Camper Space” is not a campsite

The holiday domain “Le Domaine du Moulin Neuf 1605” is not a campsite or a large holiday resort but something in between in a beautiful historic location with a large natural lake, a river (Le Périgord) and large forests. You will spend the night in your own camper on the holiday domain, where you will be offered a number of practical facilities such as sanitary facilities and recreational facilities.

There are a number of designated “Camper Space” camper pitches on the holiday domain “Le Domaine du Moulin Neuf 1605”. The sites have a natural location, near the forests and the dam. Small-scale but nice and spacious and that gives more peace and privacy! The number of “Camper Space” camper pitches available is limited to only 3 and every effort is made to offer domain guests as much space as possible.

Please note the following: The "Camper Space" camper pitches are exclusively intended for campers up to a maximum length of 7.40 m, a maximum weight of 3500 kg and a maximum of 2 axles (so no double rear axles).

“Camper Space” camper pitches with good facilities

Enjoy a cozy and safe stay at the “Camper Space” camper place on the holiday domain “Le Domaine du Moulin Neuf 1605” with a bit of comfort. Basic sanitary facilities are available and are located on the edge of the forest near the camper pitches.

The sanitary facilities consist of 2 toilets, 2 hot showers with water from the private source and a washing-up facility (with hot water). Toilet paper is provided so you don't have to carry your own toilet roll.

The sanitary facilities are shared with the other “Wild Camp” and “Camper Space” visitors on the holiday domain, so no private sanitary facilities per camper! The guests of the holiday homes "Gîtes" naturally have their own sanitary facilities in the holiday homes "Gîtes".

Finally, a "Laundry Service" with washing machine and dryer is available for a fee for guests who have been on the road for a while.

“Camper Space” accommodation and recreation

Going on holiday in your camper is already a form of recreation, you are looking for peace and space in the middle of nature to relax and completely unwind by becoming one with nature! Still, it's nice if there's something more than just that. To help you enjoy the peace and quiet, it is nice to know that you can swim and fish in natural water. There is a river “Le Périgord” with a waterfall where you can enjoy paddling and where the children can play. There are many forests where you can walk and cycle for hours, and finally there is a campfire area for cozy evenings under the open starry sky to enjoy a snack, a drink and a good conversation with other guests.

Climate-friendly accommodation with EU Ecolabel

The holiday domain "Le Domaine du Moulin Neuf 1605" has a lot of attention and respect for nature, the animals that live there and their conservation. Climate-responsible living and entrepreneurship is actually an obligation for everyone, but it always starts with you! An idealistic way of thinking and working for the holiday domain "Le Domaine du Moulin Neuf 1605"!

The “Camper Space” camper pitches have the option of using electricity. It is preferable to use solar energy (Solar), for example, and therefore to use your own solar panels, provided that you have them on your camper of course. Guests who want to use the electricity supply offered at the holiday domain can assume that this energy is obtained climate-neutrally through their own solar panels and a real water turbine.

Which Camper Space basic facilities are available?

The following facilities are available for the "Camper Space" camper guests:

Drinking water (from our own source)
Dishwashing facilities with hot water (outside)
Electricity* (230V/4A (1000W) blue CEE camping plug)
2 Toilets and 2 showers with hot water
BBQ area with picnic facilities
Natural water with the river Le Périgord, swimming allowed
Sport/fishing in natural water (there are rules, read them here)
Washing machine* and tumble dryer*
EV Charging Station* for electric or hybrid vehicles
Bread service, there is a bakery in the village

What facilities are not available?

Because the holiday domain is not a campsite, the following facilities are unfortunately not available:

Emptying waste water (grey water)
Emptying cassette toilet

In the surrounding towns of “La Coquille” and “Jumilhac le Grand”, both 8 km from the holiday domain, there is a camper service station, also called Sani station. At this service station it is possible to discharge waste water (grey/black water), empty the cassette toilet and, if desired, take in drinking water.

What is allowed and what is not

It is always nice to know what is and is not allowed, so you know where you stand.

Allowed:

Pets, provided they are kept on a leash, read the rules here
The awning may be taken down and the chairs may be taken outside (camping behavior)
Making music with guitar or other instrument
Use of electric, gas or charcoal BBQ

Not allowed

Loud music
Open fire/campfire during dry periods
Mats and groundsheets on the grass

Extra information

The maximum duration of stay in the same place is 72 consecutive hours
The maximum number of campers that can be placed is 3 per night
Quiet hours from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM
The camper pitches are completely car-free
No campers are placed on the dam, next to the river or along the lake
Use of the swimming pool is not intended for the “Camper Space” guests in July and August
Campers are only placed on the grass meadow in good weather conditions
In bad weather conditions, where the grass meadow is not easily accessible, campers are placed in the gravel parking lot

The Zéro Déchet “Zéro Waste” waste policy

A Zéro Déchet “Zéro Waste” waste policy applies to the holiday domain “Le Domaine du Moulin Neuf 1605”. Domain guests are expected to properly separate all waste and pay for the processing of the residual waste that remains after separation. Of course, this only concerns the waste that the domain guest himself produces. All waste that is presented separately by the domain guest will be collected free of charge! If you, as a domain guest, choose to put all your waste in one bag and offer it as residual waste, you will unfortunately have to pay for this.

The “Camper Space” site

There are no “permanent” camper pitches on the holiday domain “Le Domaine du Moulin Neuf 1605”, as it is a “Camper Space” camper site, but there are designated zones to place your camper. Only 3 campers are allowed on the holiday domain “Le Domaine du Moulin Neuf 1605” in the immediate vicinity of the “Maison de Maître”, not because of the space but because it is not a campsite.

The ‘Camper Space’ camper area is only available from 1 May to 1 October.

The address of the ‘Camper Space

From 1 May 2024, the entrance to the ‘Camper Space’ has been moved and has its own access to the domaine du Moulin Neuf, called ‘Chemin de la Forge du Moulin Neuf.

The entrance is located on the ‘Route des Egelantiers’ and is the connecting road between ‘Route de la Carrière’ (D79) and ‘Route de Bourdoux’ towards the village of Bourdoux. Its geographical coordinates are: 45.538298N and 1.034141E.
